Oh, I love this. I wish so many people could see this. The tendency to draw rabbits with visible front teeth even when their mouths are shut drives me nuts, even more than erroneous noses. And I love the notes on how rabbits express emotion. That's something I have to admit I haven't always gotten right myself, but it's something I've been trying to fix. Thanks for putting this together.
Yes thank you omg. I grew up owning rabbits like...my entire life, so when I see people drawing them like dogs and cats I have like ...the biggest, most exasperated sigh okay, why do they do this.
Also fun addition: fennec foxes also have thick fur instead of pawpads (for protection against burning hot sand). Convergent evolution! :D

I seen it it was alright. The way her ears dropped when she was sad didn't make any sense at all and her cat nose is annoying but when I look at the movie Bambi, it is an improvement some. At least her nails are rabbit-like and she doesn't have protruding buck teeth or pawpads... My biggest issue with her design is that theres supposedly no domestic animals in that movie but her colors (and almost all other rabbits in that movie) are 100% unnatural. Wild rabbits are brown. Some hares turn white in winter, and of course there is albinism in wild animals but she looks like a domestic rabbit and it's odd to me when there's no domestic cats or dogs or any kind of domestic/unnatural animals.
Media/cartoons have never been a very good supporter for rabbit anatomy, or real anatomy at all honestly. But this is mostly for people who have rabbit OCs and continue to draw them with pawpads and dog noses and such. Of course everyone has their own way of drawing and style but there's style and there's just wrong anatomy. I'm not starting a Proper Rabbit Anatomy Revolution and beating everyone who doesn't draw them properly with a stick, this is mostly for people who have rabbit OCs but just don't know about their anatomy.

I get why people do the nose wrong. It's because in most cartoons, like bugs bunny, they are given a tiiiny little cat nose.
But then there's giving bunnie pawpads when they don't have any ;w;
I guess it's because people don't actually know anything about rabbits because they've never had them. These little guys make fantastic pets but most people have a dog, cat or reptile, so they draw what they're familiar with. Anything else just kinda becomes a bit mixed together.
