Uh oh, looks like Bess needs to get here to interpret sign language for Zhorin, who should take a better attitude to have than "Learn to speak English". Since the Blanks are technically his employers now, does that mean they'll be assigning him sensitivity training now?
While I'm curious what Zhorin was going to say there, I'm pretty sure those thoughts have fled in favor of shock, outrage, and embarrassment at being seen while so exposed! While a normal human reaction (I'm not sure how a natural-born yinglet would react to this situation, aside from screaming!), these feelings along with his new lack of a filter between his brain and his mouth would appear to have inadvertently hit dead center on a major wound from Zev's past! Oh, I just read the key-words, yellow blood? Oh, oh dear. And as a young child? Yeah, that'd do it. I am interested to learn though, character development and all! Still, ouch. Sev's certainly come a long way since then though!
That would largely depend on the confidence of said yinglet, I imagine, though the males certainly don't seem to be lacking that in most cases! (even/especially where it will get them in trouble!) Good thing she has her family/mates there with her! I think mainly it doesn't look very wet, so I was uncertain whether it was odd markings or dried paint. Though if it's dry blood then it works alright, I just wasn't aware of their blood being yellow, seems an under-used blood-color in fiction! Aye, some wounds take a lifetime to heal, or maybe even to come to terms with. But as long as there's life (and love!) there's hope!
A bit of reflectivity/shine and slightly more rounded/beaded edges unless it's been smeared might help, but take that with a grain of salt since I'm no artist, I just like watching them work and I pick up a few ideas along the way. ^-^'
