For all the flak it gets due to its fanbase, I really like Steven Universe considering that I never thought that a cartoon with simple graphics could stir my emotions in various ways.
The scene with Amethyst uttering those lines was something I found to be very heart-wrenching and something that I could relate to.
Rewatching the episode it was on, I couldn't help but make a quick sketch/drawing of the scene with my own character.

I rather like Steven Universe too. I like it on its own merits, not its community.
Before this episode I kinda didn't like Amathyst. I thought she was kind of a jerk sometimes, even if that was just a little harsh of me. Sometimes she seemed a bit mean-spirited, but her mean streaks somehow didn't seem so bad after this one. I guess it was because I know people who are like Pearl and Garnet, but not Amathyst... at least, I didn't know any of them that I would want to associate with. But after I knew where she was coming from, her character made a lot more sense, and got some depth to it.
Don't get me wrong; I didn't hate Amathyst; I just didn't like her as much. Now the original cast is about on the same level with me.
Oh, right the art. Looks amazing! I got so caught up in talking about the show, I almost forgot to mention how good this looks. Man I wish I could draw like this, lol.
