The dome illuminated the battlefield well enough that for the most part. The world seemed to be in a wide variety of colors. Those that matched Scav and Kiya's scales, actually gave them a shimmering appearance as they stood with Blade,Fang, Apollomon and Flare. Between the six of them, they had the advantage over Daemon and with time would be able to subdue him.
Beneath his feet, Scav could sense the restlessness of the darkness, and knew they didn't have much time. But this was made all the more clear, when Daemon removed his cloak, and held out a clawed hand. "ten minutes is all you guys have left. Ten minutes until the worlds are united under the banner of darkness."
With a snarl, Blade whipped out his Wargreymon and Saberleomon swords and held them towards Daemon. "Ten minutes is all we need to subdue you and Belphemon. Besides, we want the Darkness to reach it's full form."
"Oh? Then why fight us so strongly if our goals are all one and the same?" Daemon inquired, stretching his claws out a bit, as if he were preparing for a counter strike.
"SImple...We don't want you or Belphemon getting in our way. We intend to destroy the darkness at it's peak. If the two of you weren't so insistant on a new world, we could let you live. But as it stands the two of you require our utmost attention." Fang growled out. "Now if you decided to change your views, then we could get along just fine and settle our differences peacefully."
When Daemon heard that, he couldn't help but smile. "Oh I see now. So then our plans have intersected...only you want to ruin our future plans. Well it's only 10 more minutes till the world ends so I think I can finally show you what I'm capable of." A dark aura started seeping out of Daemon's body, leaving everyone stunned as he licked his lips. "Don't worry, unlike Belphemon, I won't corrupt any of you. Rather I want you to all face me and know true despair. Arukahdimon was only one means for me to reach Super Ultimate. I've found alternative means...with which the Darkness has provided."
"I knew it..." Scav muttered out, watching as Daemon started transforming himself again, digivolving into a massive behemoth that was his super ultimate form. "I could sense it when we first encountered you in Azulongmon's domain. THIS is the form you took before we made it down there. Otherwise you couldn't have defeated him."
Daemon laughed rather maniacly as spikes started forming around his wrists, claws turning more like steel, and palms glowing blue. The white horns that donned his head were turned the same blue as his palms, as were his feet. His fur leggings urned more into leather jeans. Fur on his chest having dissolved to show bare skin, yellow lines running along his chest and his stomach glowing a neon green. Lastly, his eyes lacked any irises, being a pure neon color same as his gut. Lastly his wings spread out, creating a great gust that pushed the lot of them somewhat. Once the transformation completed, he stared at his adversaries with an evil grin. "So you knew about this form. If you knew about it, you would have destroyed me back in the East."
"Don't lump me in with the rest of the group." Scav growled, having digivolved into his Nobeldramon form, hand brushing against the natural blade along his wrist. "If you were keeping tabs on me in the real world you'd know that I've always been a hunter for hire. You learn many things in my kind of profession. Like biding your time for the opportunity to ensnare your prey."
Flare grumbled, stepping forward and getting into a battle ready stance. The Aldamon looking ready to pounce. "Scav stop talking. He wants us to spend the time talking to him."
Scav raised an eyeridge. "Are you sure?" Just as suddenly as he said this, Kiya had finished circling around Daemon's massive frame, a massive light axe in his hand as he switched to overdrive mode. The great axe was lifted by the armored mech dragon who thrust it into the demon lord's back.
However just as it struck, there was a resounding shockwave that rippled the air around them. The Axe hadn't even managed to leave a dent in Daemon's hide, making Kiya wince as he pulled it free. "The heck?! What is this guy made up of?! Chrome digizoid?"
Flare grumbled a bit. "This is why I said to stop talking!" He lifted his hands up as the blades situated on his wrists opened up to reveal to barrels reminiscant to a gun. "Atomic inferno!!" He roared out as he shot a barrage of flame infused bullets in Daemon's direction, though none of it seemed to hurt him, which unnerved Flare.
"Bah...leave him to me!" Bang called out, forming a large blaster gun out of thin air. It opened a set of jaws as a purple wave of energy shot forth from it. "Corona blaster!!"
Apollomon stood at Bang's side, generating a large orb of light into his palm from the sun situated on his back and shot it alongside Bang's attack. As the attacks hit home, there was a large cloud of dust enveloping the demon lord. Nobody knew what to expect until the dust cleared, revealing a large hole in Daemon's stomach where they made impact. "Heh...he's not so indestructable afterall!"
For a moment, Daemon tried feeling where he'd been attacked, before the damage started repairing itself. "That one actually hurt. I think you're all starting to see just how FRUITLESS your attempts at saving the worlds have been now."
Bang grumbled a bit, actually a bit agitated that hadn't worked. "I dare say you'd have made the perfect test subject for my master. A digimon with the ability to heal like that is something very few possess."
Within the jewel inside of Bang's glove, Leo started banging on the crystal. "Let me out! I have to help you guys."
"Oh shut it!" Bang growled to his hand. "You can't even fight a cold in your condition. you can barely even stand without some form of assistance so shut up sit tight and let your little brother do the fighting."
"Actually that's not a bad idea!" Scav called out, flipping out his digivice. "Let him out, I'll use DNA digivolution to fuse him and Doru together. Leo's body might not be ready for action but Doru can strengthen his body's endurance, and the fact that Doru is in such tip top shape might actually help."
That was when Fang grinned wide. "That's right! Doru was able to perform DNA digivolution with Smithy back in the South! Leo is part Leomon so the fusion should work just as well. I say do it, Bang."
"whatever you're planning won't work." Daemon barked out with a fit of laughter. "And after all of that...you only have five mintues left on the clock, whatever you're going to do you better make it your last stand."
Within the prism sphere, Max and Jesse were setting to work on their plan. For the most part, it involved the two of them evading Belphemon's chains as they came at them, as well as the many blasts of energy that he threw their way. Thanks to his 'Light Step' ability, Max had the agility he needed to evade most attacks, and whatever Jesse's wings didn't allow him to maneuver around in time, his sealing chains batted away.
"OK I think we've given Nidoking ample time to set up for our trap. Let's just hope this goes as smoothly as we've planned." Max shouted, given the size of their arena, he had to shout just to reach Jesse's ears from opposite of Belphemon's massive frame.
With a grunt, Jesse lifted a hand as he banked a corner. "way to let Belphemon in on our plan smarty pants."
This got a laugh out of Belphemon, his large form shaking the ground as he stared at the two. "this is rich...the two chosen heroes of prophecy are bickering like a bunch of fools! Whatever you have planned, it won't work!"
"Heh you're just overconfident Belphemon. You underestimate us humans, but you're one too." Max said with a grin, giving his forehead a few taps as he dropped to the ground infront of him. Both hands stretched out as they glowed a bright yellow. "Let me show you what we're capable of."
Still crouched in his feral stance, Max's hands remained positioned in Belphemon's direction, a deep throated growl coming from him. "Eat this...Light pulse blast!" Max's palms started glowing brighter, as a great yellow beam shot forth from them, flying towards Belphemon in the shape of a tiger sprinting off towards him. It's jaws opened wide as it lunged at the demon lord's stomach, bursting right through and leaving a sizable hole in his gut.
"Gah!!" Belphemon growled low, putting a hand over his stomach and taking a small step back. When he did this, the earth below his foot caved in, dropping his leg down a few stories down and leaving him in a very awkward split position, looking dumb founded. "What...is this..."
Coming up behind Belphemon, Jesse wrapped his sealing chains around his neck, pulling tight as if to choke him. "We knew you could regenerate given enough time. That attack won't kill you but we knew it would send you staggering a good ways away. We had Nidoking dig a few tunnels underground."
"A few falls won't sto-" Belphemon let out another roar as the ground below errupted, leaving a large crater where Nidoking stood standing at the center, Belphemon's leg having been blown clean off and obliterated. Steam came from Nidoking's jaws as he smirked. "You...What have you done to me!"
When Belphemon went sliding into the hole, Max and Jesse followed him in. The Nikkoumon pressed his hands on the demon lord's chest. "We've immobolized you. While Jesse's sealed chains are around you, you can't attack us. And I'm free to do this..." As Max said this, his hands started glowing, pulling out the darkness from the lord's body, which started acting as a thick, violent mist around them.
The process itself wasn't painless, as it left Belphemon writhing in place. "S-Stop it! I have to change this pitiful world! It iches gah!"
"You don't need the darkness to change the world!" Jesse exclaimed, looking to the mist and lifted his death scythe in the air, where a vaccum effect started pulling in all of the mist into it. "If you want to change the world, then start by becoming a better man. Start by helping the digital world. And by helping us stop the darkness which has caused so much strife already."
As the darkness was being pulled from Belphemon, he couldn't help but wince. "You make it sound so easy...but one person alone can't hope to make the whole world right."
When Max finished pulling the remnants of Darkness from Belphemon's chest, he lifted back, growling. "Maybe not. But then, nobody should ever have to do it alone..." He sighed as his Beast form dissapated and the egg dissapeared into his digivice. "Leo...Bang, they both know of you. Same with the other hybrids. You have friends Belphemon, and if you're willing to make amends for your mistakes, we can work together."
Max's kindness caught the demon by surprise, who'se body was already shrinking down without the aid of the darkness. Limb restored and his stomach injury sealing itself in the process. He stared dumbfounded. "You honestly think I can go back to the digital or human worlds? I'll be prosecuted and deleted. I have no future, as much as you'd hope for it to be so."
Jesse removed the chains from Belphemon's body, allowing them to course along his own once again. There was a bright light inside of his scythes blade, before it retained it's black shine. "Nobody can fault you for being manipulated. I've learned that the hard way. I am hard wired to kill and destroy. but I choose what it is that I will destroy. and I choose to destroy what would upset the balance. Such as the Darkness. Or those that would seek harm to my friends."
The dome started dissapearing, freeing them from the prison that the four had been imprisoned into. Max held a hand towards Belphemon for him to take. "Just trust me. Together we can make a difference."
Nidoking grunted as he climbed out of the hole, staring at Jesse as he scratched the back of his head. "Once we're out of this I expect you and Max to both fill me in."
"Haha yeah..." Jesse gave Nidoking a nod in confirmation before calling the ground type into his ball. "Let's go! RD and Hilt must have ran out of power."
"Just the opposite. Now that our fights over, his remaining energy is being diverted." Max pointed out, lifting a single claw.
This gave Jesse reason to pause, as he used his wings to fly in the air, with Max following behind after he helped Belphemon to his feet. "You've...gotta be kidding. Why so much?!"
"Heh why do you think?" Max replied with a smirk. "Daemon is a force to be reckoned with. It seems that we may yet meet Seraphimon afterall."
Everyone was panting as they kept their guard up against Daemon's unrelenting assault. Nothing they seemed to do would affect the massive super ultimate. And at this point the only ones standing up to him were Leo, as a Leomon X, and Kiya. Both fighting at tip top shape in order to remain on guard for all of Daemon's attacks.
With a flashy grin, Daemon pointed to Kiya and laughed. "So with only two minutes left, you intend to fight me in your overdrive form...and a kitty that is too weak to stand without the aid of the royal knights coursing through his body. You do understand...that Overdrive is meant only for short bursts don't you? At this rate you'll never be able to become a digimon again."
Kiya took a deep breath, gripping the handle of his Axe tighter. "The digital world is my home. But it is not where I belong, it isn't a place any of us belongs. So if I have to sacrifice this power to protect my worlds then I'll gladly do so. Besides...you seem to think that I'm the one that's going to defeat you."
"What's this nonsense? Your overdrive form is all that can withstand my barrage. All the other Mega's have fallen!" Daemon shouted with all the command he wielded.
Suddenly, his cocky attitude stopped all together, as he noted his shadow growing bigger, and a blinding light behind him left him turning to see Scavenger in his Nobeldramon form, holding what looked to be a massive sphere in the palms of his hands, it looked to be the size of the Starlight cities arena building, completely overshadowing their battlefield. "You once said that my Purifying strike was not strong enough to purify you Daemon! Well now you are going to feel the purifying strike embued with the light not only from, Me, Kiya and Hilt! But of every digimon that stands here. Oh and just so you know...this blast contains the massive ammounts of light that each of our digivices possess!"
Daemon stepped away for one second, growling as he looked to the armored dragon. "YOu'll all lose the ability to digivolve. you'll be next to useless in the fight to come! Are you willing to sacrifice it all for this?"
"Yes!" Came from every digidestined. Fang growled low, staring at Daemon. "I will never be the me I used to be. I am ZeedGarurumon, and if I must remain as such I am fine with that. I've come to terms with my new lot in life."
With a soft expression, Flare and Apollomon looked at each other. "I contain the spirit of fire within me. I don't need the power of a digimon to ever remind me of that."
"And as much as I've enjoyed the ability to see through my eye again..." Apollomon ran a hand along his right eye. "I will always, and forever be a prideful Charmeleon. I have all the power and courage I need to protect Flare from the likes of you."
With a nod, Scav took a deep breath. "We don't need to be digimon of mega stature! Or digimon at all to know who we are Daemon. You might not understand that but if we can protect our friends, then we are happy with this choice. It's why Max's grandfather made his choice centuries ago and why we can make it now!"
"Wait...don't be too hasty!" Daemon growled, sweat forming on his forehead, but his expression changed to horror as Scav let loose the massive ball of light in his direction. He tried to catch the sphere in his hands but shrieked as it burned his palms. For a moment it remained as such until it completely enveloped the demon entirely. For all but a few seconds, everything was silent, then a large bang resounded followed by a shockwave that knocked everyone back as the digidestined were reverted into their base forms again, save for Fang who remained in his ZeedGarurumon form.. As the dust cleared, Seraphimon lay there, barely standing where the sphere had encompased him. He took one step then lifted a hand towards Scav, who was now in Agumon form, and placed a finger on his snout, before he started disentigrating infront of them. The Seraphimon laughing weakly. "It looks like light might just triumph afterall..." was his last words before he dissapeared from view. Fragments of data flying past Scav as he sat there, exhausted.
With a deep breath, the Agumon looked at his digivice which had now lost all of it's color, all of them having been deactivated from the ordeal but he did not mind. "Looks like...it's up to you guys..."
By the time Max and Jesse made their way to the battlefield, he found everyone completely passed out, save for Leo who was still in X form, helping gather their comrades in a single place. "Max...store them in your digivice. None of them will be of use in this battle anymore. It now rests on the two of you."
With a solemn nod, Max realized the implications of Leo's words, and together, he and JEsse called everyone into their digivices. "OK...the darkness should be coming any seco-" Max's speech was cut short as the last remaining patch of land started dissapearing. Digitizing into zeroes and ones. "Belphemon I thought you had the last key!"
The demon lord blinked, shaking his head a moment. "I held the outer darkness. Daemon was in control of the final key of this world."
The trio lifted their hands above their head as a great wind blew beneath them. A dark blue cloak flew into the air just infront of them as the darkness started taking a physical form. Black fur starting to fill out the body within the cloak as a Wolf's head poked it's muzzle from the cloak. Nothing but a pair of eerie blue eyes seen beyond that muzzle. As a clawed hand extended outward, as if to grab the trio. For a moment, it remained quiet, then. "So the two of you stand before me again. But in different skins. Belphemon." He turned his eerie gaze toward the demon lord. "It seems that you've lost that which made you special to me."
"I wish to cast my hopes with these two!" Belphemon called out, using his still impressively large arms to gesture at Max and Jesse. "I wish that you would do the same as well. I know why it is you want to consume everything."
This caught both Max, and Jesse by surprise! The Darkness having a purpose? Inconcievable! But then, the furred wolf hummed softly. "These two put you in your place? And why is it do you think that they can do what I myself could not?"
"Because they are not as you say the old ones were. They wish to protect the worlds! We do not have to consume everything. We don't need to put everyone under one rule, as one entity. Give them the chance sir. We can fi-" Belphemon's speech was cut short, as a sharp thin blade formed out of nowhere, piercing the demon lord in the chest. "Sir...why..."
The Darkness's cold stare held him in place as he responded. "You talk too much Belphemon. If you trust these boys so much that you'd drop your guard...Then allow me to test them for myself! If they can defeat me plain and simple, then I will stop my campaign. But...if they cannot, then I will plunge this and every world into darkness for the impending threat."
Eyes wide, Max quickly called Belphemon into his digivice before the damage to his body was irrepairable. He turned to the robed figure infront of him and growled. "He just wanted to talk to you! Apparently you aren't just a mindless killing machine though. But we WILL stop you. We'll stop you from doing what you please or we'll die trying!"
The robed wolf smiled toothily, lifting a hand and pointing it towards Max. "Show me. Show me that Belphemon's faith in you is well placed!"

I thought about it. But the Darkness itself doesn't originate in digimon. And for it to take the form of Shadowseraphimon would be to possess Seraphimon. But yeah we have the end game in the next chapter. Considering all of the digivices except for Max and Jesse's have been deactivated.
