Possible use for my Knight & Rogue projects. Quick general info/brainstorms about them:
As a fun little coincidence, while the spirits don't exactly have genders, I imagined Gnome, Undine, and Sylph as female, while Ifrit is the male, at least in appearance and voice. This means that the main cast of K&R has the spirit that's opposite to their own sex.
Knight = Earth
Rogue = Wind
Mage = Fire
Cleric = Water
As far as voices go, Ifrit is deep and booming. Gnome is somewhat squeaky, sweet, elderly woman. Sylph is a bright and cheery girl. Undine is a calm, motherly sounding young woman.
I was thinking the spirits would be formless, rather, those that harness the power of the elemental spirits appear before the individual as different forms, so these interpretations are what Knight's group perceive them as. With this logic though, voices would change to match the appearance but I think the personality should probably be consistent, in that Ifrit is a very passionate spirit, and Gnome is caring/nurturing for example.
The group's interpretations of the spirits has potential for some funny dialogue, as Knight loves sheep and Mage loves strong and burly men.
