The third in my Bucky O'Hare series.
He gave me a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to tweak his look, then I focused on his name and went with a western flair. Sure he was a pirate, but it's not like the west lacked that outlaw spirit.

"You've seen him lose night after night after night, but this time... HE'S AFTER FRESH MEAT! give it up for... Deadeye Duncan!"
"and to nobodies great suprise, Deadeye is down again!"
"we call him Deadeye because he fights like he's blind"
Sorry, just the name triggered a random memory, brownie points on offer if you can spot where the quotes came from.

*Deadeye Duck's shawl flaps in a hard wind, as the toad platoon bears down on his position. Behind him, his comrades work quickly to evacuate the last of the Toad’s prisoners from the detention facility. Deadeye stands there, arms crossed over his chest, head bowed, hiding his lone eye under the brim of his hat*
Toad Commander: (steps forward, raising a bull horn to his fat lips, while his troops begin to fan out around him) “You are outnumber and out gunned, but if your surrender now we promise a swift death. What say you?”
Deadeye Duck: (lifts his head, a smirk on his beak as his eye narrows just a fraction) “Draw!”

Yeah that’s the image I got from seeing this awesome piece of art. Excellent work sir!

I remember he and Dog-Star were the only characters I had as toys when I was a kid. There is actually a funny story about that. (Seems like I have a story for everything, doesn't it?) Anyways, I believe it was sixth or seventh grade when Bucky O'hare was popular for me, and I remember it was around Christmas time and our class was doing a "grab bag". My mother insisted that I give a cool present and of course at the time I didn't have a Dog-Star and wanted one really badly, so foolishly suggested it as a present, I don't know why considering I actually wanted it myself, but I'm sure my child brain found logic in it somewhere. Anyways we bought the toy and I watched as it was painfully packaged and then brought to school and places in the random box with the other secret toys. Maybe I would get lucky and be given my own present back, of course I would pretend like it wasn't mine. However that wasn't the case. I watched as my friend got my present as the teacher worked her way to where I was sitting. I didn't get my Dog-Star, but maybe someone was considerate enough to give a randomized present that was equally as cool. Anyways I got my present, opened it quickly and my smile faded (and dreams forever crushed), as I looked down humbly upon my gift. A book. Not just any book...it was a Bible...not just any Bible it was an underbridge bed time story version of the Bible, very colorful rainbow cover and all. That whole rest of the day I fought back tears while pretending to read the Bible amongst my classmates playing with their toys...and my Dog-Star.
