Ladies and gentleman, I give you my latest addition to my personal armory: Platemail breastplate.
For a long time, I swore I would remain a strict light and medium armor person, but when I saw this single piece breastplate for 60€ I could not resist the temptation and bought it for myself.
The banner has a funny story to it: On the last day of June, the 30th day, Thursday, a four day event of Medieval market takes place in my hometown of Turku (Åbo is you speak Swedish) that I like to visit. Trouble is, it has deteriorated in staffwise direction, as the actors are nowadays more professional actor-driven, some of who have serious social issues and feel it's okay to pass on grumpy mood to others. (Especially certain bishop with his entourage is a particular asshole.) Sadly, greed has also taken it's root in there and city municipals have decided to sell marketing space from a palisade wall erected for the occasion. An A3 size poster costs 700€ a day, 10-18 when the event is open.....Outrageous robbery.
So I asked if my local armory had any flags or banners and even though this one is not the shiniest example, a well armored mercenary, a hooded monk and an armored red panda (plus hopefully an escort entourage) will catch the eye of the public.
And finally making his first public appearace: My traditional crossbow, The Angry Gryphon.
