Fox of a Different Flavor
A rainbow of foxes, and fruits that correspond to each color (strawberry, orange, lemon, kiwi, blueberry, and boysenberry)
Done with micron pen, copic multiliner, copic markers and acrylic paints on 11"x14" illustration board.
The original will be at the Anthrocon art show.
As a side note, I began this piece before the events in Orlando, but afterwards, working on it gave me a way of dealing with my feelings regarding the incident, and trying to channel them into something with a more positive light.

No kidding! Its a good thing I'm a digital artist.
wasn't the black one black licourice or something?
I think my fave was lemon or blueberry. I got yellow in my nose once when one of my friends "bumped" my arm. Don't worry though.. they had a blue berry sented mustache after I was finished with them. Thank goodness for the washable brand.

Beautiful. I try not to think about it as mainly a homophobic incident (though it definitely was a factor) mostly because homophobia makes me so angry. I think of it more as a terrorist who wanted to get back at the US for drone bombings and decided to take out an LGBT bar while he was at it. He was from ISIS, which is a group that hates just about everyone who doesn't act like it's the 11th century. That said, the incident was truly horrendous and my heart goes out to everyone involved. My heart goes out to you, too. I'm glad you were able to power through :)
It was a bit of a challenge to think of a truly purple fruit. Grape is thought of as purple, I think because of grape flavored things, but the grapes I've encountered (apart from wine grapes) are green or more of a red.
Boysenberries taste a bit like blackberries. I've mostly had them in pies - Marie Callenders makes a tasty boysenberry pie. =)
