What do you do when you have alot of more or less uesless light tanks lying around? You put a bigger gun on them! This is what happens when you put a 75mm howitzer on a M5 stuart. Another by tamiya. fun little build but gave me problems, cause it was the last project for me useing the "non-toxic" testors glue. I asked about 5 people the difference between the 2 and everyone said it was about the same. It is NOT. Don't use it, it might be nontoxic and have less fumes, but it does not melt plastic well at all.

Nice little mobile gun you have here, Sailor. :D
Yeah from what I understand from hubby, Blue Testors Tube is junk, and he agrees with your sentiments.
He says the reason why Blue Testors is safer is due to the lack of M.E.K. Methyl Ethyl Ketone, or Butanone in the make-up of the cement.
Max suggests trying crazy glue for small delicate bits, like antenna or screen mesh inside of cargo baskets, as crazy glue is crazy fast and the acrylic is pretty compatible with model plastics. Can even be painted over, is what he claims.

Oh damn sorry did not know this! =(
Okay forget our mentioning crazy glue, because it is "Super Glue" Cyanoacrylate, the original formula.
Hmm in that case Max suggests any of the liquid glues either by Testors or Tamiya as they have their own applicator brushes built into the cap so you're far less likely to touch the stuff while working. And to be further on the safe side, work with good ventilation, open window etc.

I'd hardly call the Stuart "useless", sure it wasn't built for going toe to toe with Panzer IVs, but that wasn't its job[1]. Light tanks were for recon, screening and exploitation, (sure, a medium/heavy tank platoon wouldn't worry too much upon seeing them but a SP artillery battery would).
The M8HMC also wasn't a case of "what can we do with these?" but a new-build replacement for the stopgap T30HMC for when light tank units needed to throw HE at things.
[1] It wasn't a total mismatch, they had similar armour protection but the IVF2 and later seriously outgunned both Stuarts.
