Jie are immortal guardians, who latch onto mortal souls whom they watch over through the entirety of that mortal's life. They can alter their bodies to be as small as a pencil or as large as a skyscraper, and use their metallic claws as weapons when necessary. The length of tails (and number of rings) on their tails reflect their age--growing longer the older they are. They can fly and have incredibly keen senses. Older Jie also learn to teleport. All Jie have one (sometimes two) tassels hanging from their ears. These can be chain, cloth, or hair.
