The design he has is an interesting take on this; despite his canine features, you can tell that he is more a 2-legged gnoll.

I like the roughly monochromatic colour scheme he has. The faded pastel look has him appear soft, which matches the fat and fur in his design. I guess you designed him towards high huggability. Aesthetically, I like how the fur at his head and around his shoulder area looks.

This design has plenty of appeal in general.
