Part of a new batch of entities built by Synthetic Insights, he and his ilk were purposefully designed around ancient and well-known deities. While they do not exactly reflect the nature of the entities they were based on given their capability for self-development, SI and the peace keeping forces concluded it would be best to use these beings over more generic beasts and creatures. Not only would they inspire awe in the population they protected, they would also strike fear in those who opposed them. This is furthered by the propaganda the peace keepers have spread among various planets, much to the chagrin of Synthetic Insights, Nemael and his siblings.
