This stunning feline merfur was given her name by a young wolf pup who found her as a wounded infant, washed onto the Netherland shores. She was christened Saffier for her royal blue eyes, which were too beautiful to be overlooked, even in the water. Nursed back to health and released, Saffier's fascination with the creatures of the land sparked her curiosity and disregard for danger. With all the natural qualities of a domestic cat, such as her reflexes, swiftness, affection, and playful nature, there was hardly any aquatic inhabitant she could not befriend, or outrun, if refused friendship. Through her playful and curious nature, she learned the lifestyles of many sea creatures, such as their different types of calls, their diets, their homes, and their interactions with other sub-aqautic life, all for the fun of it.
One week, while tailing a school of shrimp heading southwest, she found herself in warmer waters. Unbeknowest to her, another stranger to these tides was a stone's throw away. Hearing the echos of automatic gunfire under the water, she followed the strange noise to a large yacht, the LSV Blethyn. The ship alone captivated the feline, as she observed it from all angles. Aboard, a lone teenage wolf fought against heavily armed pirates, a Langren from Wales named Evan Langston. Outnumbered with his fists against three assault rifles and four micro machine guns, Evan used his powers of lightning and soul to overcome the scalawags raiding his family vessel without so much as a flinch, and tossed them overboard. Before long, the bell on his large fishing net rang. First thinking the thugs were entangled, he dove under and started to undo the netting, the shadow of the ship casting over the net and hiding its true prisoner.
In the process of freeing his catch, the ropes to the large weight at the bottom of the net tangled around Evan's leg, and one errant strand of rope clawed loose caused the weight to drag Evan down to his coffin among the sands of the deep. His accidental captive in the net was none other than Saffier, who escaped and darted after him. Only an instant before the water could compress his lungs flat, Saffier caught him by his partially unravelled hand wraps, and shot him up to the surface. With the wolf hanging in her jaws by the collar of his polo, she climbed the rope of the net on board and dropped him on deck. She found the surprise of a lifetime as she saw the pup that nursed her back to health as a kitten, now nearly grown. In a twist of excitement and fear, she kissed him, unknowingly bestowing upon him the power to breath underwater, which awakened him only a second away from death.
He instantly recognised her as well, and although she had given him the power to live beneath the waves with her forever, his responsibilities forced him to decline that offer. She understood, without a tear shed, and with a graceful leap, flipped back into the water. Months later, on her trip to the Indian Ocean, she was caught again, by menacing fisherman, who intended to sell her. After being carted onto the continent of Australia, a small unit of females confronted the two fisherman, who were wanted in Japan for numerous counts of theft. Making short work of them, the females, referring to themselves as the Anthro Angels, took only a look at Saffier, and instantly wanted her as part of their family of dominant female vigilantes, driven by the dream of a world under their benevolent, Amazoness-style rule.
Saffier accepted and united with them under the flag of the Anthro Angels, working as their aquatic expert and rescue diver. Upon joining, she was given a massive aquarium asher accomodation, along with two pet dolphins, as well as a wet tunnel slide that connected her room to the beach. Through miracles of science and fortune, she was later given a head circuit that distributed water vapors through her skin, allowing her roam on the land. When not in her element under the tides, she relies on a wheelchair for land transport. In reference to her many rescues of the innocent and even their enemies from tides, sharks, and other oceanic hazards, Anthro Angel leader, Ruza Kalem, often calls her The Atlantic Angel.
