Just a quickie comic based off something that happen in WoW (world of warcraft). I was in a party going through the sunken temple and I ran out of bullets right at the start of one of the dragon fights (not even the last one). I'm just kinda glad I didn't try to say some one liner right before the fight (yes sometimes I do that :p )

my axe skills are pretty low (relatively speaking) and when I went from the main DPS dealer to the third rank tank thats bad...especially that the tank focused on one person and I had to keep intercepting enemies before they reached the squishy members of the group.... I swear Scruffles (my wolf pet) was laughing at me trying to beat someone down with my axes.
Oh this reminds me what happened to my group while we doing Stratholme, I use a bow now but back then I was using guns as well.
I had plenty of bullets (being as my character is an engineer) but we wiped a few times on the Baron as I was the only one who knew the fight at the time. As such we all hit yellow on our armor durabilities, though for me it was a bit more drastic as my gun was red and nonusuable. Fortunately (or unfortunately as the case would show) a group mate managed to pick up a grey trash gun from one of the fights outside as I didn't have a backup weapon and a hunter meleeing is a bit nuts to begin with I asked them for it. They agreed as they were also a hunter and knew how much damage is done ranged vs melee for the class. So they traded me the gun and I equipped it, unfortunately I didn't realized I had the Baron targeted when I did so and that when I equipped the gun my auto shot would go off. Everyone was like WTF when he started attacking us again killing me and my pet first of course and since everyone was half healed and mana he made quick work of the rest of the group. We managed to defeat him later that night after the group made me rez at the graveyard and repair at Light's Hope Chapel. They also vowed never to give me a trash weapon again before a boss fight and it is a running gag for me within the guild.

I do the same thing on occasion with my mage... Though it's usually not against bosses.
I can tear through most mobs in the time it takes them to reach me, and using only about 25% mana or so. Thus, when one drops, I gleefully begin attacking the next (especially when the last hit of the previous mob lets me proc something like Hot Streak, one of the most fun talents ever. Instant Pyroblast!). Unfortunately, when I get to the point where I run out of mana, it's always a split second of "Oops... hehe, umm, nevermind about the burny?"
...But that's what Mana Gems are for. ^_^
