EDC Vegas has finally arrived. I got to climb nearly a hundred feet of scaff for the last week hanging video walls and scenic for one of the largest EDM events in the world.

Two and a half mile track, 8 stages, 200 million dollar budget and more than a mile of video wall to go around. My main stage on Cosmic Meadow had 5 towers of 16 row video walls. 1200 led video panels on stage 2. This thing is insane. That's not even the big one though, the AG Circuit Grounds stage has 8 surrounding towers that are interior masked in video wall and the main stage is a complete video wall with added pyro, moving lights, elevated video panel lined dj booth with even more lasers and moving lights surrounding it. I'm so hyped to see it in action tomorrow night, I had to get some rest today but tomorrow is show call and then Sunday I get to go back and either get more hours or enjoy the show before the ironman load out. basically a 12 or more hour shift of show call followed by a 5 or so hour push to break down the initial production. By the 22nd I will have worked about 160 or more hours in the last 17 days.
Thank you, Nick! I love doing these things even though it is a much different monster than it was four years ago. Four years ago it was raw, terrible and super hard and even with all of those things it was super fun. This year was near clinical and sterile in comparison. Just remembering back to how much blood, grime, sweat, and filth we were wallowing in before compared to what I've done this year is a completely different world. I hurt in a lot of places and my hands and feet are practically shredded but last time I was coughing up blood and black, my nose was constantly filled with tar and every day was some monumental back breaking task. This year the hardest I've done is climb back and forth to the top of the stage carrying steel. The day I had to climb to the top one handed with the ratchet strap was certainly interesting. I didn't have anything to tie it off to on me so I had to clutch it in my left hand and climb with my right while crooking the steel in my elbow while I latched the meathooks on. That was fun.
whoa!,
that is so cool.
if I hadn't known you actually
worked this project to get that view
I would've thought that was photoshop
because of how the light is hitting you,
it almost looks like it belongs on a book
cover or something of that variation.
again,
that is an amazing and beautiful shot.
