Having read the rest of it on your DA account, I've got to say, this stuff is rather awesome. You've created some great art, a few differences, but enough that I can tell who's who of the returning characters, and overall, everything's what one would expect. Heck, the storyline even fits the prides. I'm wondering, of course, if the Word Bearer, might have some magic in her/him, but that's for later, for now, you shall have eyes on you, always watching.

It took me a while to figure out what you meant when you said "the Word Bearer". In the first issue, it was a last minute change, because I thought it sounded better, and I was too concerned about getting the issue posted to remember that I called her the savior for a specific reason (whether that reason is still there when I get to it remains to be seen).

And no. It doesn't spoil anything by telling you that no one but the mandrils have any form of magic. My previous project (witch I've since abandoned) relied a lot on magic, so, like a bad habit, I fell back on it in my first ever comic. One of my many regrets about that issue. But I'll just have to work with it.

And you can watch all you like, but don't hold your breath. These things take about 100hrs to do (and that's an underestimate). And I probably won't have the next one till next year.

Well, you could say it wasn't magic. After all, hypnosis through light flashes is possible. Simply say she spread some form of bio-luminescent lichen inside the eyes of the mask, allowing them to flash brightly, making Simba's mind a bit more mailable. Of course, when Rifiki broke said mask, it killed the lichen inside as they were exposed to air, and since the mask was a relic artifact, not something new, no one knows how it was made, or how to remake it.

I think that might be too complicated. Giving an explaination later on for something that happened in an earlier issue will probably be too distracting, and will be of little interest to anyone. I think it's better to leave it at magic and work with that.

Okay, well, it was just an idea. Still, can't wait to see where you take the story next, and to see how Kiara looks with her scars.
