well.. if you have a system that supports it and "Kirstens SD5-R1" SL viewer.
* Enables Advanced mode (CTL-ALT-D)
* Click on "Debug settings" near the buttom of the Advanced dropdownmenu.
* Type "renderuseFBO" and put that on "true".
* Then replace "renderuseFBO" with "renderdeferred" and puts that on "true" aswell.
then you will have shadows... OR nothin will happen..
IF you get shadows, you will proberly as me go down to 10-12fps. but thats still good for photography I say.
Known videocards Ive personally tried:
AIT X1800 512MB DX9 card.. dosnt show any diffrence
Nvidia 8800GTS 512MB DX10 works, as you see.. ^.-.^
PS: the "Kirstens SD5-R1" dosnt support "snapshot to disk" while shadows is on.. that will just give you pitch black images with maybe one prim being lit up in the image. (makes me happy im running it on a 24" Full HD monitor so that a screenshot is still enough resolution to work with)
UPDATED: The installer is HARD to find online. because the crator retired and noone is hosting the file even thous she tells people that people can freely do it if they want. so here it goes:

aye.. that would be if that make it DX10 Raytracing tech compatible.. that would be awesome.. you would still want something like a SLI setup with one of the cards for PhysX and Raytracing only.. it need massive amounts of proccesing power... though I on youtube Ive seen short videoclibs showing shadows in a fluid rendering.. I wonder what system that is on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZjQ2bvxDQE
Do you have a copy of the Kirstens SD2-R5.exe?

40fps eh? I dont think im near that on Vista.. gonna try it on windows 7 now.
My specs:
Intel Cote 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
3GB Ram.
XFX Nvidia 8800GTS Alpha dog edition 512MB DDR3 and DX10 compatible.
Some random Asus mobo. (anyone knows how to find out which one it is? I cant find any label on the board to lead me in the right direction)
On Vista I have a 500GB Sata II drive as C drive. on Windows 7 use a 64GB Patriot Warp SSD Sata II.
