The carpet's individual fibers, now like tall, grassy reeds that could go up to Lucibelle's waist had they not been pressed down by years and years of treading, formed a veritable marsh of dusty heat that spanned the length and width of her periphery. The sight, though alien, was not unfamiliar to the ovine who beheld it, and though she found little to be surprised about, the soft, chafing crease of pad over fuzzy toes still manage to render her knees knocking like beads on an abacus.
“Geez, you really that shy, Luci?” came Tali's perfect purr, a voice Lucibelle may well call flawless had she the words to say so. The volume and booming, marshmallow-soft depth with which Tali's words came did not dampen her judgment any. The leopardess' ankles rose high as Lucibelle looked on at the her-sized toes pressing firm into the rug; the slightest pigeon-footed; padded soles pushed flat along the bottom of her sofa; every intricate detail was visible and indeed unavoidable. “I... thought I'd get you to shrink a little bit, but not this much!”
Lucibelle stamped a hoof in mock protest. She duly noted her hoof nearly disappeared into the undergrowth. “Oh quit pretending! What's gotten you so evasive today, anyway?”
Though Lucibelle could not see Tali past her kneecaps and the generous lap that blotted out the little remaining lamplight, she could very well imagine her pearly, warm smirk. “I dunno. Guess it's just the company!”
“You mean you're just doing it because of my reactions? Th-that's not fair!” The snowflake of a sheep stamped again, stumbled, and bleated at pitiful decibels in protest.
“If I am, you have to stop making it so easy,” Tali sang. Thick golden digits, still growing along with the rest of Lucibelle's ever expanding world, slid over one another. Hints of their pink-padded undersides practically glowed as their leathery surfaces splayed and stretched. Plush was the curtain of toepad that slid and slowly, almost intimately, courted the tops of Tali's free paw. “I wouldn't mind hearing a second opinion of your painting job now that you're down there getting a closer look, Luci,” came Tali's light mew. “Any cracks? Feel like giving them a new coat? You're well suited for it at the size you're at.”
As punctual as ever, the massive set of paws unfurled and pressed their heels to the ground, toes splaying in every direction as her sole ground into the earth. A swivel of her heels here, a parting of her bus-sized digits there, and another cup of Lucibelle's tiny hands to her muzzle to ineffectually hide her unending streaks of red. Her tiny tail swung and wagged furiously, inciting her mounted bell to chime incessantly.
Lucibelle haphazardly strung words together, vain and useless as ever. “I don't know how to say I don't know without saying 'I don't know'...”
“Awwww!” Tali leaned forward a little—and at last, the turquoise eyes set on a youthful face appeared over her towering lap, golden bangs and locks falling perpendicular to the ground like a curtain of sunlight. Those eyes rolled to their sides, pink nose twitching curiously. “I-if this is too much, I can stop at any time, Luci. I mean, I'm only teasing. I don't want to—“
A flustered Lucibelle shook her head and bleated, snowy hair swishing along with the motion. “N-no! K-keep... um, please, don't feel like you, um—” She swallowed hard. Shoot. There was no getting around it. “D-don't feel like you have to...”
Tali's lips peeled back somewhat, exposing a warm smile that belied a personal agenda. A flash of understanding glimmered in those teal irises. She would roll them, but she was enjoying herself far too much to poke fun at her best friend this far in. “If there's anything specific you want me to do, Luci, you'd better let me know while you're still size enough to see.”
