1:700 scale waterline warships are one of my hobbies. I just finished this one last night and wanted to share it. Not the best picture, but whatever. Not furry either, but let's pretend it's crewed by a tiny anthropomorphic race. Fantasy Ya'll.
A lot of firsts here. This is my first British model. It's my first resin kit from the sadly now defunct White Ensign models. It's also my first time attempting disruptive camouflage. I'm sure there are errors. Finding references is hard.

Thanks man! I chose the Penelope mainly because of availability. I wanted to make a light cruiser and there aren't that many Royal Navy light cruiser kits out there. I ordered this one before White Ensign closed. Luckily from what I hear, they will be making kits again, but there is no time frame. I chose the Penelope because there are more references of her. I used Warship Perspectives, Camouflage Vol. 2: Royal Navy 1942, by Alan Revan, then some pictures I found on the Internet. I would have preferred the Arethusa, but I couldn't find a reliable reference of her. Malcom Wright is coming out with a book on cruisers, but that won't be out for a while.
Next up I'm thinking of making an E-Class destroyer, or finish the IJN Nagara I started. Also just ordered an Atlanta Class kit.
I'll check out the book you recommended. It sounds up my ally!
