I love sharks. Always have, ever since I was a kid (was pretty obsessed with them for a while, actually). I think they're some of the coolest and most interesting things on the planet. From the legendary predators like the Tiger Shark and Great White to the casual plankton eaters like the Whale Shark (someday I'll see one of these in the wild. Someday...) to the ones that simply defy description (check out the Goblin Shark sometime), they're just really majestic animals.

One of my favorite species is the Leopard Shark. A calm little shark, mostly harmless and with some beautiful markings. I remember going to an Aquarium in Southern Oregon once a long time ago (more than a decade at least), and you could pet one as it swam around it's tank. That's one of the earliest memories I have of encountering an animal out of the ordinary, and it stuck with me. I've had the pleasure of seeing some of these while SCUBA diving, and it's always a thrill.
