thumbclawz i must confess that this is one of the most challenging commissions that i´v ever made. Paleo is dancing the Odissi dance, a beautiful folk dance from India.
Of course the costume was one of the most difficult things to do. I´m happy that he liked it.

In fact (though i am sure you know this already--more aiming this at the rest of the audience) breasts have very little to do with being a "hermaphrodite" as strictly defined. Breasts come from hormones, which are set up in a very complicated manner. But being mixed sexes doesn't mean you necessarily have the right hormones to grow breasts. It's just that, in art, a certain "tack it all on" approach dominates depictions of "hermaphrodites" to the point where people assume that your "sex" (male/female/herm) dictates your physical layout.
Which isn't actually true, depending on how strictly you define things.

Oh right, "hermaphrodites" (ie, people who are intersexed) don't have to have any particular feature. If you are unambiguously(*) male or female then there's no question, but otherwise--no matter what sort of ambiguity--you're a "hermaphrodite", or whatever word you want to call it.
The terminology is fraught with peril. Particularly when (-ahem-) talking to real people, who often have strong (and appropriately so) opinions on the matter.
(*: "Unambiguously" is mostly a social construct. In fact, most people have some sort of ambiguous features... it's just a question of how far along the line you can go before you stop being labeled "a male" or "a female" by society and then thrown into the no-man's land in between.
"No-man's land" being a somewhat silly description, admittedly...)
So yeah. Paleo is not "male", it's just that he's male-ish enough to pass as one

Oh my, he's a beauty in this one. Especially love the movement of the cloth and the shine from the adornments. This is a pretty picture all around. Though I think something looks a little wonky with his right hand at the wrist. It might be just cause his hand is so big due to his species, but it looks a little broken. <.<

My gosh, that is so perfectly posed. You did splendidly with the shine off the necklace, the armbands, and with the colored part of the costume's bottom piece. I can really get a feeling for the entire mood even if just with that simple freeze fame. <3

You did a beautiful job at rendering this one. I'm always impressed with what people come up on here, taking real things like this dance for instance, and putting it to the concepts than art like you have here.
Beautiful work, love the clothing especially the pleating on the front. The tail looked like a leg at first glance, larger than the waist. Lovely colors, lovely.
