Born in 3 Quintillis, 2326*, Chakat Coalpepper, child of Pepperpelt and Coalfire grew up as a fairly normal cub. Testing as effectively talentless, hir true talent was found quite by mistake when shi was given a book in Spanish. Like many chakats, shi speaks only standard, yet shi appeared to be reading the book just fine, and in fact a bit short of an hour later, shi was able to explain what it was about. Exactly how its possible is unknown, but while shi only speaks one language, standard**, shi can read any language, even if shi's never seen it before, although languages not based on predecessors of standard and its alphabet take longer. Given time, shi can translate what shi's reading into standard. Whether its a talent in the traditional sense, or a race memory is unknown. Already a bookworm, shi became even more so when this was found, and would grow up to be instrumental in recovering antiquities do to hir abilities as a living Rosetta stone. A mishap with one of the missing pieces from the Tower of Babylon would bring hir to the attention of the Regents, and shi'd become a valued member of the research staff at Warehouse XVII***. Here we see hir playing with an EDP in the warehouse.
onyxavia is responsible for this pic, her first taur IIRC. She was given free reign to draw what she wanted, any rating level, grey scale with a touch of colour, the only thing i gave her was the Warehouse 13 reference in hir career which she was free to use should she choose, and this is what she came up with. Quite outstanding, and i love hir take on the face, really expressive i think.
* Standard 13 month calendar date, equivalent of 19 June on the old standard Gregorian calendar

*** Of course you wouldn't know that as there's no such thing as Warehouse XVII or artifacts, or EDPs, or...
