This past Sunday, I was working on a surprise Birthday drawing for 
kalikafutago. I was about 75% done colouring it, when I noticed there was a tiny green dot on the lower left-hand side. Not thinking much of it, I was finished colouring one of the greens in the background and I went to close my Grass Green Prismacolour marker when...SPLAT!!
Green marker all across the page, and it went through the character, and even onto the 23k GOLD LEAF.
If you happened to have heard a faint "NUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!" coming from nowhere and was wondering what it was, it was me screaming in frusration >.<
I tried desparately to fix it up so you couldn't seen the splatters in the character part, but then the colours were just too dark for my liking, and the marker seemed to have stained the Gold Leaf too. When I tried to wipe it off with a Q-Tip, some of the Gold Leaf started rubbing off, and even one of the "tassels" that's haning off of the belt buckle had the gold leaf come right off when I was trying to marker-colour the shirt.
It was then that I just gave up on it, and tried to trace over it on my light table, but even then, the drawing was just too dark to completely see through, and it looked like a big blob that I couldn't make out.
So, I had to start the whole thing over again. *le sigh*
If anything though, I learned a little bit more about dealing and working with gold leaf.
So, Kalika, this was SUPPOSED to be your Birthday drawing ;)
I still don't know what to do with the original...I hate to throw it out cuz, y'know, of the gold leaf and all =P I mean...who throws out gold?? XD

Well, the thing is, after it was all coloured up and stuff, even if I were to cut it out and paste it on a different piece of bristol, I still didn't like how the colours turned out, like the jacket is way too dark...plus, the more I looked at it, the more I just didn't like the pose anymore XD
I have to agree with the others, despite the unfortunate green accident, it looks really nice! I really like the pose you've got going, it's very dynamic and I love how you did the hair and her face in this one.
It's really too bad about the "Grass Green" marker deciding to be a jerk, cause this is still a lovely piece of art!

Originally, I was going to have you holding Nace in the free arm, as if you had scooped him up and were carrying him away XD But I just couldn't fit him in there and make it look good as well >.<
Again, it doesn't look *too* bad now, but at the time, when I still hadn't coloured you in there, and with all the green splattered...Oy! XD
It might be hard to see on the scan cuz of the gold on there, but it's especially there on the belt buckle, a spot of the marker ink. I would've thought it would come right off of gold leaf because...well, it's GOLD. But I guess not >.>
Plus, by that time, I was finding all kinds of things that I just wasn't liking about the picture, like the eyes, or how green tips just wasn't fading as well in with the black hair, and I just got all nit-picky about it XD
