in a way many of the caviar left will always snub upon the churchs in general and catholic in particular spenditures in arts patronage.
in a way we can agree to a certain level... but all the arts patronage helped the poor also... what would be of the smiths and the craftsman the sculptors the painters if that patronage was not done... and the world got a hoard to treasures that becomes more valuable... because we can't live only in bread but also the things that makes us OOOHHH and AWWWW
