So I probably should do an update on the girl since she is on the road now.
Bed is on along with all six tires. Stereo is hooked up though I need to relook at the wiring and half of the lights are hooked up. KaCey was at her first cruise night tonight and July 4th will be her first show.

I'll be honest. That dually setup looks extremely unsafe, lug nuts aren't designed to be load bearing, that's what the center hub bore is for. The weight of a wheel is going to be dangerous on simple 5 lug studs that are shared for use on a crown Victoria will fail if you put any sort of weight on the outside wheel o.o let alone a whole other truck based gooseneck trailer. It might be best to actually put an 8 bolt axle under it and run real dually wheels
You have some great points and its really hard to say how finicky the spacers will be from just looking at pictures.
I've never personally worked on a dually axle so I'm no pro.
The shim / sleeve that he had made that goes over the assembly looks like it should take some of the weight and keep everything somewhat stable.
Towing would certainly be a bit spooky, just because you made some mods I don't believe you are safe towing something more then the stock rated capacity. I think he did it mostly for looks though which should be fine.
If he every swapped the rear axle out for a big old ford 10.5 it would certainly be way stronger / safer setup.

If the hub did hold it center I would agree with you but it's the studs and nuts that center the ranger wheel. I never plan on exceeding the Rangers pay loud nor tow capacity it's just everything it to help dramatize and distribute wieght. Dually or not anything will fail if exceed what it's max rating is. Most I'm doing is putting more load on the bearings which on the old truck I had it set up as a dually for five years and never had to do deal or bearings on the axle.
