Some sixteen years ago, my friend
Wirewolf wrote one of the most achingly beautiful love stories you'll ever read, either within the fandom or outside of it: Fate also smiles
Wire's story was a great influence on my writing, and 'Tremble' is my best effort at a tribute. Thank you, kind sir, for allowing me the attempt.
'Tremble' will update daily for the next week. Constructive criticism is always greatly appreciated. Enjoy!

I was just about to pound upon you if that was supposed to the whole of it... this is so well written Anhedral! You immediately care about Gareth and Aspen. I hate to say it but I would have done exactly the same if I had found myself in his situation. I've given pups CPR - it does work.
By all means keep this one going!

Thank you very much, Vixyy! I'm so happy that you liked it.
I wouldn't have believed that animal CPR was feasible, until I found this incredible video during my research for the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rB_fGxdq8FU

I can't tell you how humbled I am by this. Your work draws me in and holds me, creating scenes that are memorable and beautiful. Your description of Aspen catching Gareth's eyes had me rereading the passage for several minutes. I couldn't just take it in and move on. I wanted to savor it, letting it linger on my palate. And as Vixyy noted, you know how to invoke empathy with a gentle certainty. I, too, would have gone home with my arms full.
Thank you for sharing this with us. And if my work has helped bring this about, then I'm grateful to you for taking the time to read it. This goes far beyond a generous review. I would say "Tremble" is the highest praise I've ever received.

You make me blush with such compliments - thank you! I've read 'Fate' so many times now that something like this was pretty much inevitable, sooner or later. But really, your story is still the best of the best in furry writing as far as I'm concerned. Seems I'm just a big mushy romantic when it comes to furry characters [rolls eyes theatrically].
Ah, you picked out my favourite paragraphs of the whole chapter! So much editing and re-editing went into those few lines.

Okay, you got me hooked!
This story is an ocean I would happily drown in. Your descriptions are lush and vivid, but not overbearing. The progression is straightforward, and yet even the mundane actions of eking out a means of surviving day to day carry weight.
I will be reading the rest of the chapters with anticipation.
