FC 2007 Togo Con Badge

This was actually a gift badge I made for Togo at FC 2007 I got to meet Togo again at Furry Fiesta and he happened to have the con badge with him so I snapped a cell phone pic (yes I know my camera sucks) I thought it was cool to run into a fur who's fursona was based on Togo.

Bonus points for who ever van figure out the joke behind this badge.

Love it! The expressions are fantastic.

Thanks for taking the time explaining the whole Togo/Balto story to me. It's good to know the background. But does this mean I should burn my Balto VHS cassette as revisionist history?

Nope it wasn't that hehe..however what was your other idea? There is a interesting historical fact that the Balto movie left out there in lies the joke behind this badge :)

Hmm, best I can figure is that they took Togo's physical description and used it for Balto when in actuality Balto was a black and white husky.

The historical fact is Balto's team only ran the last part of the journey but they got known for making the save. No one ever remembers the other sled dog teams that actually made the more lengthy and dangerious part of the run like Togo's team did. Hence the humor behind the badge. Togo is commemorated in his own display in Alaska.

See, now I was looking for something really obscure. xD Though, as I read one author put it, Balto came through in the chips were down- no one thought he would be anything more than a freight dog of sorts.
