I had the idea of a giant worm that is a parasite to dragons / other megafauna of their particular world. Much like parasitic nematode worms they infect the hose and take over the internal body cavity, growing in size until they can no longer draw any sustenance from the host due to the host's body being eaten from the inside out. The host can also appear to vomit a foul smelling dark liquid, product of their partially / uneaten organs decaying from the inside out.
Host bodies will have several symptoms of being parasitized, the most notable (though not so for this particular drake) is that their eyes gain a cloudy appearance and they appear blind. The host will develop an unusual gait- walking as if they only have an approximate knowledge of how their particular species is supposed to move. As stated they will start to spit up black liquid, and if they happen to be a sentient species they could have changes in personality, down to becoming very 'zombie' like. Lack of will, drive, sentience, etc.
The parasite itself is a sentient creature, capable of high functioning thought going so far as to speech and malicious intent- though driven by an insatiable hunger and a vulnerability when not within a host. It has preference to warm, wet environments and can adapt to a largely flesh based diet when not actively within a host; while both in and out of hosts it has slimy, mucus covered skin and must be kept moist or risks drying out and withering up. It has a variable size, and thus can be drank and or otherwise ingested as but a small, pencil sized wormlet to slip in and out of new hosts.
When it needs to transfer out of a host it will almost always lead it to water before making it's escape through any bodily orifice it can slither through. In a panic it very well could abandon a host by simply tearing through the body wall with it's razor sharp teeth.

I think i'll make this guy a character. I want an icky worm.
He also needs teeny tiny little hands somewhere.
(Also, if anyone has any links / help with cell shading, let me know)
(Also also, this isn't vore, please don't think of it as such. Vore is icky to me)

Kay. So usually I'm not for parasites and the like... But this is oddly awesome and dare I say it??? Hot? IDK how to explain it but it looks really really nice tho and kind of pleasing to the eye???? Either way I'd certainly be interested in seeing more of these two around! Or only the worm I suppose, as IDK how long the host will remain. :P
Kind of tempted to try it myself now, but pssshhhh, I'll let the master keep at it. -flaps hands in your general direction-
Aiohfgroihg -lays down and rolls out- Q____Q;;
