Yeahhhh!!!!!!! We're back up again!
This Thursday Prompt I would like to dedicate to
duroc
*smiles big... it's the very first story I have done where the main character is a pig.
Dang... but the bad connotations from 'just' a word are incredible. 'swine - pig - and anything else you can think of' just have such a negative mental image attached to them. Let's see if we can change it just a bit.
enjoy...

Hooray for kids with big hearts! Great work as always, Ms. V.
And you got me thinking, it's not just the porcine who get a bad rap. A lot of barnyard animals would go on a list of maligned critters as well: cows, goats, chickens, sheep. None of them have stellar reputations. I wonder why our domesticated animals wind up getting dissed like that.

*give him a big hug... thank you Wire...
probably they are dissed because they are a 'common known' willing to serve man no matter what... or maybe it's the eleven secret herbs and spices (that was a bad joke - if I had to kill my own meat I'd probably be a vegetarian... but who knows - if you are raised to do this then there is no problem, yes?)
*hugs...

Penny reminds me of my son in grade school. he was often in trouble for coming to the aid of smaller children being bullied. My pride in his basic goodness and willingness to get involved often put me at odds with the school. In the end the school won and Michael has learned to keep to himself, and not get involved
Cute! The prompt being the key to showing that pretty and not so pretty can be only skin deep.

Never raise your hand to your children -- it leaves your midsection unprotected. -- Robert Orben
When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion. - Abraham Lincoln

I’d seen a couple cute quotes that I couldn’t remember when they’d come in handy, so I started gathering them into a file – to be used when I want to appear wittier than I am.

Bachelor: A man who chases women and never Mrs. one.

Any coward can fight a battle when he’s sure of winning. – George Eliot
Anyone who stops learning is old. Whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps leaning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. – Henry Ford
There's one consolation about matrimony. When you look around you can always see somebody who did worse. -- Warren H. Goldsmith

It's the generation Hauke... if they are taught right from wrong by their parents - and how to stand up for what they believe in by society - instead of being allowed to lay car hijacking video games... perhaps we could change this.
*smiles... you touched one of my buttons silly...

Beautiful my dear. Truly. The way you write the prompts, if you know what the prompt is, you'll find it, usually in a whitty little mannerism of some descript. But when one does not know the prompt, one can still read your stories, and get every inch of the story without it seeming 'forced' to be on any one topic. Wonderful...
I agree with this story. I can sympathize with the frog, once last year in school, there were come kids who where trying ti make me go "smoosh" Those people pulled knives, and three kids had been sent to three hospital already. Not one person did anything at the high level. I pleaded and begged and argued to the principal, to no great effect. Then there was Dan. Dan was like the penny pig of your story. He took a camera on the bus and got the evidence to prove that bad things were happening. That act that got those irksome bullies who threatened all our lives expelled. Life was never the same again.... Those wonderful memories are what keep my going. With no pressure, there is no change. It feels like there is no power at the lower level, but when enough of the lower level collapses, then the higher powers start to worry, for if the foundations crumble, then so will the structure above.
Dedicated to me! Oh, Vixyy, you--are--the--greatest.
*grabs her in a big hug and swings her around*
And I love it. Penny is my kinda girl, and it makes me wish she were my friend in grade school. I like how you switched up the old "kissing the frog" bit too. Great job, Vixyy. You're amazing.
