It's late at night, I get ready to go to bed, brush my teeth... and hey let's randomly make a drawing.
I blame all the errors in this on the fact that I was asleep XD

The Three Caballeros is the BEST MOVIE EVER
Buy it on DVD and watch it every day! Actually in the US you get Saludos Amigos with it which they don't even sell here, how cool is that??

I used to watch that movie over and over when I was a kid. There's actually a "Caballeros"-themed ride at Disneyworld in Florida... you ride on a boat through an elaborate series of dioramas depicting various places in Mexico, while animations of Donald, Panchito and Jose pop up now and again to crack jokes and serenade you.
Indeed! I was thrilled that they finally gave us some new Panchito and Jose stuff (though you're right, it's a bit more modern in execution), plus it's just a pleasant way to idle away some relaxing time after you're through waiting fifty minutes in line to buy a Mickey Mouse popsicle. (I absolutely love the tropical, volcanic jungle atmosphere of the marketplace and restaurant, too.) As far as I know the Mexico pavilion is the only place in the entire park that sells decent "Caballeros" merchandise... I even bought the matching drink coasters. :3
I agree - this film is incredibly underrated - some of the craziest (both funniest & most surreal) animation Disney ever did. This film picked up where Fantasia left off - "Bahia" "3 Cabs" - Donald turning into a Keith Haring drawing 20 years before Haring was even born - Donald as a wiggly balloon & a stoned flower - Dancing mutating cacti (the part where the gal in that sequence vanishes in the distance with Donald trying to catch up to her always made me sad when I was a kid). And let's not forget Donald lusting after human babes - feather porn!
Oh and btw I'm pretty sure they publish a Jose Carioca comic book in Brazil - I've seen it in the window of a Brazilian store I pass by occasionally.

Yes, Joe -or I should say- Zé, is very popular in Brazil. He's kind of like Mickey in the US, or even more like Donald in Europe. He got some modern clothes, two nephews, and a girlfriend there. In the Netherlands he's not as popular but there are still comics of him being made, in the old style: José as a lady killing, cigar smoking, slick tongued bastard who lives on a scrapheap XD AWESOME He's never such a bastard in the movies but he was actualy introduced to the public in a comic first, and he's been a very bad role model for kids right from the start X) At least Panchito is a little more considerate lady killer.
