This is the first of several bas-relief portraits I have done so far, and was done several years ago. I confess that the design is not *entirely* my own, rather that I used a line drawing from J. Peffer's "(How To) Draw Dragons and Fantasy Creatures" book. (Say, is Neon Dragon a member here? I'd like to give due credit eventually)
Obviously, then, I don't claim this piece is 100% mine, but I do claim the material, textural, and color design. Eventually, I'll open up commissions of this type of portrait, if I have positive enough feedback.
Technical Details:
Material: American Common Yellow Pine
Tools Used: knives, chisels, gouges, and sandpaper.
Finish: stain and polyurethane (satin)
Project time: I forget, could be replicated in less than 6 hours.
