Yay for obscure references ... seriously though, listen to this song, if you don't know it already.
- in case you're wondering; it's the first two verses I chose to draw this particular piece for, because I feel it suits the particular kind of intimacy I like to portray so very perfectly for Nick and Judy.
I promised other kinds of artwork and have yet to deliver ...
To explain a little bit of why I've been so very unproductive as of late;
I haven't been unproductive. I've just been producing artwork for a different branch of my endeavours, which I'm trying to keep separate from my online persona, at least to a certain extent (an application portfolio, to be more specific).
Most of it wont see the light of day here, or if yes, then only in a future I can't tell might come around eventually. This is also the reason why I've been slacking on artwork that's been waiting on completion and I apologize for all those of you waiting on me to get my ass into gear.
Don't worry though; I have no plans to disappear entirely. It's just been a very busy time trying to assemble a showable portfolio the last couple' months and I recently acquired some tips to improve it, which I'm implementing as best as I can, so there's still going to be a bit of time before I return to regular scheduled artwork.

For me, it could mean many things. The darkness in Wilde's heart as he goes after Hopps, the tear streak from her eye as he comforts her.
How society views them both. The crafty, sneaky, untrustworthy fox contaminating and corrupting her just by his presence near her, tainting her to society...
I'll stop here, because if I go on any further about this and what it could potentially mean, I'll turn into an art gallery snob. XP

Heh, those are some very interesting observations actually. All of those would be applicable, I suppose.
I generally figure the prejudice these two would have to face, regardless of whether they became personal, would make a great story hook for a sequel (another bit of aesop <3 )

Of course I love it, but words fail me so much it's... "else"
It directly appeals to emotional part of the brain
And you did not put clues to let us know what to think about it, it looks dark, but they don't look distressed or sad, we don't know if it is an allegory or just them experimenting some kink........ Really strange

i was agreeing with mrpwnr, i just forgot to hit the reply button. but to expand, he said it looked eerie. and it does, very dramatic and if this was on the cover of a book i would not even do my standard three random pages to see if I'm interested, id just buy it. this is one of those unique pieces that can bind several moods and emotions together seamlessly.
you make fantastic art, but this is a power piece.

Thank you very much =^-^= it's one of those things I really like doing with character pieces, where you can interpret, even though the theme is more or less clear.
Also, three random pages is a good idea, Imma hav to remember that for next time I get myself a book (yeah, like that'll happen 9.9 )

wow, someone spilled their milk in an odd way!
Seriously though, really nice drawing there, it's almost as invisible representations of them both have had oil pour down on them, and in that sense, also look very realistic compared how the liquid would most likely flow down their shapes
It's nice to hear you're still around, am guessing the portfolio is for future job reference? I hope it turns out beyond your own expectations

Mostly the song title. There were several ideas concerning the depiction of something like 'black milk' in my head, but this one won out, because it allowed me to be selective about which bodyparts and lines to highlight and what I could leave out. Admitedly, the liquid is more like oil, but then I think that adds to the piece, with the thick liquid giving it a ... heavy feel, if you know what I mean :3
