He is GORGEOUS. I have a thing for black-hooded rats because they remind me of my first rattie, Nibbles.

Thanks! Solid black rats are my favorite, but black-hoodeds, agoutis and dark colored rats in general come pretty close. X3

I used to have a solid black one, she was gorgeous. Her name was Shadow :D

True that! He actually does squeak a -lot-, especially if I move him away from chewing on something. XD

how expensive is it to get a rat fixed?

Normally? The same price as getting a cat or dog fixed (here it's around $200). I got Xavier neutered for only $60 because he came from a rat rescue. ;3

I miss my last rattie... a girl named Sweetie Pie that White Wolf had given to me. She was about 3 years old when she died right after I returned from MFF last year... as in a couple of hours after I got back. She had waited to die in my arms, and she did. She lived up to her name, very sweet and loving, and very intelligent... But all rats are, if you and them are able to socialize with each other enough. You've got a kyooooote couple of rats. :o)

I can't wait until the economy is back on its feet and I can move out. I want to get some rats of my own. My mom hates rodents (and animals in general right now because we have a greyhound who we rescued that poops on the floor)

But I love ratties.
