((cross-posting a couple things from Weasyl from while FA was 'down' for me))

This was something I started a little over a year ago; just some fancy text to show off with for self-promotion :P Then my bedroom was hit by a flash-flood that trashed a good hunk of my traditional media projects. Unfortunately, after a two-day project turned into two-weeks of fiddly details and ideas, my fancy-name marquis project was one of those projects hit by the flood water.

The top picture is the scan-in of what was left of the original project, once everything had dried out. The bottom picture is after at least a month's work of even more fiddly detail work, both traditional and digital, in an effort to recover what I'd salvaged (instead of just starting over, or scrapping the idea).

I had the idea halfway through to try and incorporate the physical damage into the lettering. Because; (a) fancy artsy reasons, (b) I think it looks cool.

Part of the reason for making this piece in the first place, by the by, was to self-promote for my Patreon. Which I have. For food and bills.
