The ZX1 Astromech Droid was produced during the Clone Wars by a now shut down company known as the Gibdel Astro Corporation. The ZX1 was Gibdel's first and only droid to be designed as built, as it turned out that Gibdel was using Industrial Automation parts bought off the black market. Industrial Automation thus sued Gibdel Astro Corporation, resulting in the foreclosure of the company and it's only factory. Despite this, there are some 200 ZX1 astromechs still in use throughout the galaxy.
