dude this is rad! admittedly my biggest complaint with a lot of these masks is how corny and shallow the snouts are, but your take here provides a nicer silhouette visually!

do you plan to add ears at all? I feel like this would look great with ears :0

Yep, the ears are the last thing to make here before finishing it up. I figure I'll do some kinda upwards-pointing ones like a doberman pinscher, I think they would match the narrow shape of the snout that I've got going.

Snouts are just kinda tricky to make. When possible, it's nice to be able to make a mask out of a single flat piece of leather that you form and mold into a 3D shape, but there are limits to what you can make with those sorts of techniques. The best snout I think I've gotten with a single piece is probably my fire tiger design, but still you can only push the snout outwards so far. By using multiple pieces of leather and attaching them together in the right way you can get more complex 3D shapes, but it's harder to design and it takes longer to make each one.

ah, yeah, I getcha. I've dabbled here and there in leather, but it's a tricky thing to get ahold of. major respect to those who can work with it.
