If you resize it to 1280 before uploading, it doesn't get all compressed and gross - but reuploading like you do works just as well!

Also, I love this idea.

Not quite, I mean like, PNGs for the sake of transparency. Instead of having a transparent image, The image just defaults to all transparent pixels becoming black. This has been the case for a while, I was hoping the beta layout would support PNG transparency :<

Aaahh - if you give it the proper size of it before uploading (or just reupload) it SHOULD fix the clear bg (This one shows a clear bg for me, for example). I do it for a lot of my stuff and it seems to work, at least on the regular/old layout.

And yeah, it compresses them into jpgs if they're too big, I think.
