From a young age, Kasumi was trained to be a geisha. Years later she became a full fledged geisha and was one of the most desired ones there. She's defended the other girls from drunken or rowdy customers and saved the geisha house on more than one occasion. One night Kasumi was on the streets coming home late, when she came across an injured Tomo Katswell http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20417415/ and since she was closer to work than home, Kasumi took Tomo back to the geisha house to get her help. Later when assassins came by to look for Tomo since she was spotted in the area, Kasumi disguised Tomo as a fellow geisha and got the assassins to leave after apparently not finding her. Tomo gave her thanks to Kasumi and left, but Kasumi feeling good that she helped a resistance shinobi against the Damiyo, she wanted to help more. She sought out Tomo and begged to let her help out with the resistance. They got into contact with the Kasumi's boss, the head mistress of the geisha house, Madam Kamaye and with the exchange of some money, the geisha house became a place of resistance meetings. But when the Damiyo found out through his spies about this, he sent his assassins to the house to kill everyone there. Luckily with Tomo and her friends there, and there wasn't a major loss of life, but Kamaye didn't make it out as well as the others, before she died she left Kasumi in charge of the house and that is how Kasumi became Mistress Kasumi. After that incident she wanted Tomo to train her to fight. Tomo showed many shinobi techniques and gave a choice of weapons. Kasumi chose a bladed "boomerang-sickle" that can be used as a slashing and a long distance weapon. Kasumi also specializes in stealth attacks, she has smoke bombs that when set off look like a mist for Kasumi's namesake. Now Kasumi and Tomo are prepared and ready for anything that comes their way.
