Also known as the twilight or dark dog; the Gwyllgi is a monstrous black hound that stalks travellers. It has glowing red eyes and a fiery gaze which renders victims paralysed.
Like many black dog legends the Gwyllgi is a huge and stocky creature described as like a wolf or a mastiff, its fur is normally jet black and shaggy in texture.
There have been many reported sightings of this beast in the North of Wales, including Nant y Garth pass near Denbighshire, Marchwiel in Wrexham and on the isle of Anglesey; to this day there are still many reported sightings of this fearsome creature.
