After a period of Audino hunting, the team was ready to take on Roxie's gym and get their second badge. Hephaestus and Swift both decided to take on Roxie's trainers so that they could get some experience, while Platinum faced Roxie. After defeating a Venipede, Swift was finally able to evolve into Marill... but this came with some unforeseen side effects.

If you're unaware, Azurill is the only baby Pokemon that has a different gender ratio than its evolutions. Azurill has a 3/4 chance of being female, while Marill and Azumarill have a fifty fifty split. So when a female Azuril evolves, there is a chance that it can become a male Marill.
