hehehe... yeah, really happy with the way it came out, actually - the artist did a freakin' amazing job of it.
Although strictly speaking the Vanguard aren't from the future exactly, but that's neither here nor there. But a lolly shop might not be the best place to hide - the Vanguard like chocolate

Ohhh, I see! I was about to wonder if maybe the artist in question had developed such a quick way of painting, that they could afford to charge $25.. *nervous laugh* But it is certainly a very high-quality piece. It looks like a professional comic book cover! I think I might remember saying that about another piece you commissioned once before. *grin* But this one is SO clean and smooth!

Man, I was just thinking this would look awesome if it was a full sized movie poster. But yea, he did a hell of a job on it. I fully agree with some of the other comments about this looking like something out of a high quality comic or graphic novel.
I saw the B&W version on angle27's page and it's one of the few times that a B&W version looks just as good as the colored version. And the fact that none of the line work was lost when he colored this is a credit to his skill and talent as an artist.

Completely agree with you, Karerease. I've got a high-res copy of this that I plan to print out to put up on the wall in our home office at some stage. Anyway, I should really point Angel at the comments here, because I know he doesn't feel like many people on FA give a shit about good art unless it has lots of porn in it - and I would tend to agree with him.
Not that there's anything wrong with porn, of course... just nice to appreciate something artistically impressive every once in a while.

The icon is a short clip from a short "arty" movie made by an Eastern European surrealist artist from the 70's or early 80's (iron curtain stuff). On the YouTubular there are a few clips of his movies, if you are interested I can dredge up his name (cannot remember how to spell it off the top of my head).

Hmm, I think I could hazard a possible guess as to the weapon of which you speak! I've been fortunate enough to convince some artists to draw scenes from my Vanguard novels in which that happens, as I see you have already discovered Many an ass gets terminated. Repeatedly and with great delight (and some stretching)...
