For some reason I can't help but think about the 1939 cartoon "Peace on Earth" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4QnF0cIRw0 If you haven't seen it, watch it first then go back and watch it again for the subtle things they put in the background, like what the animal's houses are made of and what happened to the stained glass window in the church. Definitely a film with a message, especially considering what was going on in 1939. You could see their fears of what was possibly to come.
