Let me be the first to introduce you to my first closed adoptables species: Dream Kips!
They are a closed species for the simple fact that there are a lot of rules and guidelines I want to keep attached to them and their creation, I plan on releasing more over time. ^^
Dream Kips, or Kips for short, are deer/sheep/dog hybrid creatures that are the guardians and protectors of dreams. They are able to exist both in our world, and the dream world. They seek out the children/cubs of the world who are having trouble sleeping, and they sprinkle dream dust from the fleece on their bodies. The amount of fleece varies from Kip to Kip, as does the shape of their horns and their ears.
When they first meet the child/cub in a dream, the child wakes up with a bell beneath their pillow. This bell matches the same one on their Dream Kip's chest. If someone other than the child/cub it is intended for, shakes the bell, they don't hear a sound. However, the child/cub will hear a very faint twinkling like chime, and if the child wishes for it to appear it will. Kips can remain as ferals or appear as anthros depending on the needs of the child/cub. They exist much like an imaginary friend in the real world to adults but be very real to the child/cub. The only way that an adult can see a Dream Kip is if they truly believe in magic.
The secret to their lives, exists in their bells. The bells can be any color, engraved, or rarely jewel encrusted. The belief of magic and the love of the caretaker swirls in a magical aura within the bells. As the child grows, the magic within the bell either grows or deminishes depending on the belief of the child. Some children may encounter a Dream Kip and need it only for a short while, while some lucky few, are able to keep their Kips as a lifelong companion. If a bell becomes lost, the Dream Kip guards over its bell, depending on the relationship between the Kip and its child/cub, they may or may not be able to find their way back. If they aren't able to reconnect, the Dream Kip disappears into dust and the kip is reassigned to another child in need.
A Dream Kip has potential to become a permanently physical being and live and exist in the real world without a guardian. They are only able to do this if their child/cub truly loves them and is ready to let them go. When this happens the child kisses their bell and it begins to radiate and glow with the love of the child and it is then that they feed it to the Kip. The bell dissolves and the bell on their chests is absorbed into their bodies. After this happens the Kip is now a physical being. It can no longer return to the dream world and its fleece no longer is capable of producing dream dust. They are able to go out and live their lives as if they were any other normal creature.
There is a rare occasion where a Dream Kip becomes corrupted and turns into a Nightmare Kip, the only way for this to happen is for the child/cub to willingly summon their Kip to them and have them say to their face "I don't believe in magic" and then crush the bell with the Kip still manifested in a phsyical state. The Kip then loses its purpose in life and is unable to be reassigned to another child, it vanishes from the world and goes into an incubation type state within the dream world. As it wallows in sadness and grief, it changes into a ravenous, revengeful creature that then seeks out naughty children to be the creators of nightmares.
I want to sell a few of these to get them out to the world, and also get their substance hashed out. I am flat selling this first one, and then I am planning to sell a couple more bell adoptables that will grow to just a feral stage. Again, your Dream Kip can shift between anthro and feral at will and they still can! but I will only have time to release a feral ref with the bell adoptables being sold soon.
If you would like to own the very first Dream Kip, this lovely female however! She is up for sale! She doesn't need to be assigned to any specific guardian in order to be adopted, but if you have one in mind be my guest!
She is for sale for $30
