You guys have probably seen this, it was used online and in various countries to promote the movie that came out earlier this year.
This is an official poster created for 20th Century Fox. After pitching various concepts, I was asked to turn a moment from the trailers into a full size, comic book style poster.
I designed and illustrated the piece by hand, all traditional pencil and ink. The original art is actually in several pieces, as more was added -- originally it was just the figure, then I added the katana handles, and then the cars and henchman. Professional comic book colourist Blond, who colours for DC Comics (and others), aced the sweet colours for me. As an easter egg, the far background is from the original leaked footage that led to the movie being greenlit!
We put a lot of work into creating a higher detail, comic rendered piece than my normal work (which tends to be less detailed). The end result was a kickass poster that blew up the internet on January 27th, 2016 -- AND WOUND UP IN RYAN REYNOLDS' HANDS. O3O;;
