Thank you.
It was experimental commission so I was playing with the process to make it but it started off as a photo mash of textures and mixed media that got painted over with stylized extended proportions, along with some line work that was done after the fact over that. (which is kinda backwards to how most line work is done but hey I'm primarily a painter and it worked) The composition was inspired by artist like noah-kh (DA) or the idea of surrealism in general. The idea is that if you flip the image it still will read as right side up. The astral projection of the maniacal parts might be overkill looking at it now but it was a fun challenge at the time. If you want to know more about the process I keep documented wips for all my commissioners at least for now.. https://sta.sh/21cq84bisvgc?edit=1

It looks fabulous, I think you succeeded very well.
Per linework on paint, I'm at about stickman-level of art drawing, so I'll take your word for it :p I can only comment that the final product looks fantastic.
Flipped it still does look very nice, and while I don't think the astral projections of the mechanical parts are overkill, it does tend to give an 'up' direction, with the 'dead' side being 'down'.
Thanks for the link!
