It's not as unlikely as you might think. In Fallout 2 there was a clan of intelligent talking Deathclaws who would eventually open their home (a vault) to and act as both friend and protectors to human inhabitants. Unfortunately, they were wiped out by the Enclave in all except two cases. There is some conflict in the Fallout Bible as to whether or not the two survivors reproduced. Of course one of the lead developers in Black Isle Studios says they did not so meh.

I think the two survivors were male? idk
but fallout4's deathclaw population isn't sentient since the Enclave isn't present to mess with them, so this scenario is uncommon without the right perk.

As of the newest DLCs you can capture and tame death claws

Their was also a crap ton of good and nice sapient deathclaws in Fallout Tactics but they where slightly furred (like bird fuzz) so its likely Prewar that strain had some mammalian or avian DNA along with reptile, they spoke English cause they had bird like vocal cords they could be recruited into the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel. I am really sad they decided Tactics is only partially canon was really interesting.
