Well.
The short story is:
I was given the impression that the world and story were very deep because there was a map of the world, descriptions of each facet of the world, and a great deal of potential for storytelling within it, but then I was given a different impression that shifted toward venting and nothing more.
The long story is:
I came up with a good backstory for a character that had a degree of depth, describing a clone slave that lead a small miner revolt and described how they became learners and not simply drone workers. They learned to speak their own language, learned to speak the Overseer language, remembered their habits and struck in unison, using their mining equipment as weaponry and stealing the superior weapons from their owners.
The characters simply fled and split up, satisfied enough to live free lives and covered up the incident as a catastrophic cave-in, so it would never be remembered as a revolt in the world's history, only as an accident that'd be forgotten.
The character I submitted would become a Harvester because of his key role in the revolt and the aftermath, distributing the survivors to various safe havens and finding them work, etc, etc. He'd live as a simple mason before becoming a Harvester, acting as a sniper (which I described more as being a recon, a spy, not really as blatant a fighter as the scythe-wielding designs that plagued the community..) He had nothing really special about him and I tried to make him seem somewhat human and no so much a super-hero.
The character was rejected!
