I feel the same about my stuff. It takes looking years back for me to really see a difference in quality. But yeah, others can see it easier. Weird how that works. It's like with your mood/behavior, too - others can pick up on changes more easily than you can(doctors prescribing mood meds will ask those close to you about changes as well as you, because they can better perceive it, if that makes sense).

That does make sense. I've taken prescription drugs for mood issues and not noticed a damn thing and have had my loved ones say I'm making improvements so I get it, haha.
