...slash server room. This is where I spend most of my day when I'm not at work. :>
The networking in this house is nuts. I've probably explained it all before, but I'll let the picture speak for itself. LOL I've made some revisions since the last picture was taken and moved some of my servers around. It's small, but it really is a wonderful space, and it's a really cozy room. It happens to be situated right over my front porch, and the view of the street is nice. Don't even have to get up from my chair to see who's at the front door. c:

Haha, I wish! It'd be absolutely kickass to have an aux generator or something. As it is, I have to load balance the shit outta this room... I really do. I always have to be aware of how many computers are active on a given circuit. I've only ever overloaded it once, believe it or not. Ha... A few more UPSes wouldn't hurt.

I'm certainly making the world a better place for myself. Haha! xD But yeah, better to repurpose than end up in a landfill. You'd be surprised at the amount of people that will try and stop you from doing that though... A lot of times even when you're taking from dumpsters, you'll need a good pair of boltcutters to get at the good shit. They're serious when they want the scrap value of those things. :P
By the way~ College campuses are AWESOME places to find just such treasure troves. Usually they upgrade and throw out their old IT equipment periodically. Most of the time right before tax season so they can collect the writeoffs. ;)
