When Rita took over the world, Kitty fought harder than anyone else in the resistance. But after a few years, she became tired of fighting a losing war and seeing her friends and allies die in front of her. One night she left the resistance bunker and wandered out in the open waiting for RITAdrones to find and finish her. Miraculously she walked for three days with no sign of any robots around her and she went on into a desert and collapsed due to thirst and hunger. It seemed like this was the end for Kitty, but she later woke up in a cave next to a fire with supplies scattered around the cave. The owner of the cave and the person who saved her was unexpectedly The Chameleon, who had not been seen for years after RITAdrones fired plasma blasts on him which burned his suit to his body and made him turn into a horrible misshapen mutant made of objects and people he's turned into the past. Kitty asks why he saved her and Chameleon believes that she's important to saving the world and couldn't let her be die and be buried in the desert forgotten by all. Kitty says she can't go on when she's losing a bit of herself everyday. Before Kitty could respond RITAdrones found them and were firing into the cave. Chameleon took them head on and destroyed every drone but at the cost of his life. He was too badly injured to survive for very long and Kitty started to cry for a former enemy who was now her savior. His last words were "Don't give up". Kitty buried him later and went through his cave to find supplies and came across a samurai sword and armor which she took to defend herself. The next day, she wandered through the desert and encountered scavengers and drones but neither could defeat this cat which a sword and a new purpose. After getting out of the desert, Kitty found her fur matched the sand of the desert like her whole experience has physically marked her and would always be a part of her. Now she'll return to the resistance to never stop fighting til the world is free again.
